I was always thinking about getting funeral insurance after a close brush with the Grim Reaper but never did much about it. Then someone at my work died and didn't have any insurance (at all) leaving her family to pay for her funeral which was in the region of $11k. I decided I didn't want that for my family, so I filled out the online form for a quote. About 20seconds later, I got a call and told that I could get $10k funeral insurance for about $10 per week (it was actually $10.21 or something like that). So, I signed up there and then on the phone and it was instant. The person I spoke with was friendly, I could understand what they were saying, and there was no legal jargon that I had to navigate. 10/10.

Felt pressured to take a policy even though there was a 30day cooling off period. Didn't like the idea of handing over all my bank details when I hadn't decided to accept the proposed policy. The person who rang me after I cancelled couldn't even get her words out and I almost hung up. Not very professional.

In the beginning when I was making enquiries I thought the agent had it all off pat. She was reading everything very quickly. The person I spoke with on the Monday to cancel seemed a bit dumb struck and he was finding it hard to accept what I was saying. Overall it was not a very good experience.
